This was originally meant to be a design blog, but so far it’s mostly a running blog. Well, I guess if life gives you distances to run, you just have to put on those running shoes.

I accumulated a bit more than 50km since the last post, and had some big gaps due to my best friend getting married and consequently no time and energy to spare. In addition, I had problems with my running shoes – after some 6km of constant running, my right foot started to get numb. When it happened for the third time, I got really frustrated and searched the web for the reasons.
I found similar stories from runners and the causes were all from pinched nerve to wrong running technique and just plain wrong running shoes. I decided to try some other running shoes so I went back to the store to try and return them under a complaint. The woman working there was ultra friendly and helpful, I almost returned the shoes when she suddenly said – “Wait, you said right foot?”
She reached into the shoe, pulled apart the inner sole and pulled out a anti-theft “chocolate bar”, the thin metal stripe surrounded by plastic. I couldn’t resist laughing, so stupid of me not to check the shoes… Yesterday I went running 10km on asphalt, no pain / numbness at all – hopefully the problem is solved and I can concentrate on getting some more miles before the marathon – only 35 days remaining!!!!
Otherwise the life has been good. After deciding that I want to change things in my life, I got a great opportunity at work which I’m grabbing to with both of my hands and as far as it seems, everything will work out great.
